Day 2 #GR52022 with Forstina Pobbie - 21.7Km, a hard 979m up very rocky boulder filled fields to the Lion’s head peak and 1640m down through the same boulders and then a long vallley to Auberge Valezan for a well earned beer!

#GR52022 Day 3 - Definite PB for Forstina Pobbie and I managing 1761m of ascent and 800 of down over 25.6Kma d getting to the refuge in time for beer before tea!

#GR52022 Day 4 -an up and down and up and down again day of 1297m of up and 1180 of down. Completed the literal high point of the walk 🏔

GR52022 Day 5 from Refuge Entre deux Eaux over to the Vanoise valley over very dried up lakes . Great Refuge Roc De La Peche with MontBlanc Rousse et Blanc to toast the day with Forstina Pobbie

GR52022 Day 6 - 22.8Km of 979m up 1842m down ! Through the Valley of the Cairns- up slate and granite scree to Col de Chaviere at 2796m before a v v v long down to Fourneaux

#GR52022 Day 7 Accidental deviation from the route resulting in another walking PB 1845m of up and 397m of down in 16.4Km ending up at the most refuge like refuge yet at Mount Thabor .. interesting cairns and a new brewery for Forstina Pobbie and I.

#GR52022 Day 8 - Wet and cold 🌧 day to Plampinet forcing a no stop strategy for a 5hr 21min walk - 20.5Km, 1510 down and just 491m up. ☀️back in time for pre-dinner stroll.

#GR52022 Day 9. Lovely day through the valleys up 1074m to windy Col De La Lauze at 2540m and back down 703m on a rocky path to Montgenevre in fab sunshine.. Forstina Pobbie taking a quick stint as a shepherdess along the way 🐑

#GR52022 Day 10 - last one of 2022. Very gentle morning stroll in the sunshine to Briancon for a very welcome lift home from Simon Davey . Epic 10 days with Forstina Pobbie .. just 12 days to go to get Nice … roll on 2023!
