Important: Large n=5929 meta-analysis of 17 RCTs shows that hydrocortisone alone does NOT reduce mortality in septic shock: RR 0.96 (CI 0.82-1.12) The survival benefit is *only* realized if fludricortisone added: RR 0.86 (CI 0.79-0.92) Be sure to add fludricort in septic shock!
