First tweet! Excited I can use it to highlight our study on patient preferences for CAD treatment. Many thanks to the patients and docs who participated. ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/CI… Manesh Patel Schuyler Jones Circ: CQO

I've learned a lot from Kemi about the experiences of our URM colleagues. Now everyone else can too with this powerful NEJM editorial.

It's great to have some data to back up my impression of VA cath lab quality. This adds to several studies showing VA cardiology outcomes are as good or better than the non-VA alternatives.

I've been lucky to have great clinical mentors, but so many people don't have that peer support in their hospital or clinical group. There are opportunities for learners (all of us) to seek better feedback and for leaders to put their junior colleagues in a position to succeed.

A shocking but unfortunately not surprising report about medical debt. I wonder how many of these 100 million were pushed into debt by cardiac testing and procedures? Does anyone discuss out-of-pocket costs with their patients before recommending a cath?

Spoiler: probably not. At least here in Washington State, patient outcomes are worse at low volume programs that are prohibited from doing PCI for stable CAD, and geographic access isn't much improved.
