What an honour to see a full-page review of my book in this weekend's The Australian newspaper Paul Monk writes that "it is a beauty. It demonstrates exquisitely detailed research, originality of thought, maturity of judgement and a wide-angled vision of geopolitics."

Not uplifting but a must Australia-China read by MargaretSimons on the demise of China Matters. Those who played a role in bringing this about should hang their heads in shame. Please don't imagine you are champions of liberal democracy. Linda Jakobson themonthly.com.au/issue/2024/jul…

Read the story of China Matters. Linda Jakobson for the first time speaks publicly about the 2020 attacks on the institute. Written by MargaretSimons The Monthly chinamatters.org.au/wp-content/upl…

Definitely worth reading. A thorough piece. Small but important correction: China Matters was NOT brought down. The organisation continued to function and bounced back after the attacks. Post-attacks it published Tim Watts MP Dave Sharma, Peter Varghese, hosted Office of Kevin Rudd, 26th PM of Australia etc

Kudos to ⁦MargaretSimons⁩ for continuing to pursue the facts around ⁦China Matters⁩ defunding. She confirms that no evidence has emerged to substantiate slurs of foreign interference (read “Chinese”) in its activities. themonthly.com.au/issue/2025/mar…

Moni professorituttuni Yhdysvaltojen huippuyliopistoissa pakkaa nyt laukkujaan. He pelkäävät tutkimuksen vapautta ja tasoa Trumpin aikana. Tässä on Euroopan mahdollisuus kiihdyttää myös yrityksiä hyödyttäviä innovaatioita ja teknologiaa. Entä jos Suomi ottaisi tässä johtajuutta?
