This #render of the week presents one of the highlights from @LorneProteins - presented by BhabhaEkiertLab: Structure of an endogenous mycobacterial MCE lipid transporter, now released (PDB: 8FED, EMD-29023). Thanks James Chen for sharing this amazing #CryoEM structure! (1/2)

Check out the second half of my PhD thesis work, recently published in JBC, here! We utilized a combination of computational and experimental approaches to decipher the transient protein-protein interactions made while transporting lipids across the bacterial cell envelope! 😊

Excited to share that the first paper from the Isom lab is now available on Biorxiv! (biorxiv.org/content/10.110…). We have investigated YhdP at the molecular level to show that it forms an envelope-spanning bridge and that putative phospholipids are found inside this bridge!

Thrilled to share my postdoc work in the Eric A. Appel developing a months-long-acting drug product for treating T2D. Huge thanks to my coauthors and to the support I received from Schmidt Science Fellows!

We are excited to share our first in situ cryo-FIB-ET manuscript from La Jolla Institute in biorxiv! We have revealed the nucleocapsid assembly process and presented the atomic model of the intracellular nucleocapsid of the Ebola virus, which causes highly lethal hemorrhagic fever.

Really excited about this work from the lab. Celena Gwin (they/she), together with Kuldeep Gupta, worked to understand how mycobacteria create heterogeneity in growth. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
