1 RIFLES recently deployed 22 divers to the Red Sea on a scuba expedition. This was conducted on a Liveaboard with @masterliveaboards. The team were able to develop their skills in a challenging environment, diving some of the world’s top sites.

This week Anti-Tank Platoon conducted a joint exercise with the Cypriot National Guard. Teams shared best practices before exercising against CNG armoured vehicles (including BMPs and T80s!) with CH47 support and drones in play throughout. The Rifles BFCyprus

On this day in 1944, D-Day took place and saw one of our antecedent regiments, the 2nd Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, carry out the very first action that took place several hours ahead of the main landings, at 0015 hours.

The RIFLES ceremonial team in France had the privilege to lay to rest Sjt Henry Ashton of the DLI this afternoon. He died in 1917 and was buried at Loos British Cemetery in France over 100 years after his death.

Congratulations to Craig Woods who after 90 days at sea and 7,506 nautical miles, has officially become the first triple amputee in history to sail solo, non-stop, and unsupported across the Pacific Ocean from Mexico to Japan! The Regiment is incredibly proud. Swift And Bold!

200 years ago reloading the Baker Rifle was a slow process for our predecessors. A well-trained Rifleman could generally manage three rounds per minute. Today things could not be more different. Whilst our tactics and technology have changed, our ethos has remained.

3 RIFLES teamed up with EdinburghDroneCompany and utilised The Field Army funding to bring a 3D printer to Kenya on Ex BULL STORM to 3D print FPV drones for use in the field. Learning from lessons in Ukraine, this was a valuable proof of concept and at the forefront of Army innovation.

3 RIFLES recently deployed to Kenya on Exercise BULL STORM as Task Force Hannibal playing enemy forces against 3 SCOTS and 1 R ANGLIAN Battlegroups. Getting comfortable with the scorching Kenyan temperatures alongside the challenging terrain is a firm test of any Rifleman.

5 RIFLES recently deployed to the US Army’s National Training Centre in California. Attached to the Experimentation and Trials Group (ETG), they joined 2 ROYAL YORKS and the US Army in evaluating emerging military technologies.
