"My view on climate change… is that it is time you took the climate change debate out of the hands of campaigners and put it in the hands of policymakers" Latest Tony Blair #climate hot-take. Qu is, is anyone stopping policymakers from owning it? dailymaverick.co.za/article/2025-0…

Second report in a row from the Tony Blair Institute purporting to be in support of climate action that has been hijacked by climate deniers. Political genius at work. Well done everyone.

Important background: Blair institute has received donations from the US State Department and Saudi Arabia. Biggest suppliers of gas in need of carbon capture to stay in business in a carbon-constrained world.

Many politicians - Tony Blair just the latest - appear more sceptical about public support for net zero agenda than evidence suggests is warranted. Most recent YouGov poll found 61% of UK voters support govt plans on this, with just 24% opposed.Ā  Evidence also suggests Labour

If Tony Blair is serious when he says he regards climate change ā€œas one of the fundamental challenges of our timeā€ then he’ll be absolutely furious and mortified about this headline, right?

Your reminder net zero is a scientific term referring to a balance of anthropogenic emissions and carbon sinks required to stop temperatures spiralling out of control, bringing with them increased risk of food insecurity, catastrophic weather, and civilisation-level disaster.

One of the best summations of Tony Blair's climate intervention from Richard Black. Rightly highlights how so many of Blair's assumptions are deeply flawed and how his solutions he is proposing are speculative at best. linkedin.com/posts/riblack_…

Tony Blair is playing into bad faith narratives about net zero which does more to help the dirty fossil fuel industry than the rest of us. 1/3

Yet another damning assessment of the UK's climate resilience efforts from the CCC. We are very badly prepared for impacts that we know are coming. businessgreen.com/news/4412919/c…

I think this is the most underreported, under-developed, under-discussed aspect of climate change in this country. We can all have a big old scrap over mitigation, but the climate IS changing and everyone should be invested in how we adapt. It's part of national security.

Breaking: Tony Blair has clarified that he thinks the government's approach is the 'right one' after he said that current net zero policies are 'doomed to fail' and 'irrational Blair's intervention caused widespread fury in government on the eve of the local elections. Number

There's quite a nice pattern emerging where parts of the press get really angry about net zero, and then a day or two later the government just goes ahead and announces another ambitious climate policy. businessgreen.com/news/4413004/c…

Interesting to see Farage replicating a strategy that has seen Trump's approval ratings crater. Government Ministers will be along any second now to make the obvious link, right?
