I have so much respect for people who are still willing to receive new perspective with an open heart—the people who would rather work to understand the nuances of the world around them than to remain complacent in their ignorance.

As a young teacher, I would often spend my preparation time sitting in rooms of "Master teachers"- just watching and listening. It was the best, free training I could get New teachers, find sources of inspiration and grounding. Fortify your mind/spirit with examples of success.

Instead of spending millions on flashy new curriculum, schools and districts should invest that money in raising teacher salaries and paying teachers to create curriculum that is meaningful and engaging for their students.
