On March 2, I hit book #400: BEAR OUTSIDE. Between now and 2022, I have at least 7 more books out, including a book of adult poetry, a middle grade historical fantasy novel, one or two easy readers, three/4 more picture books.Happy reading!

Watching one's own book in a zoom reading performance can be breathtaking! Devil's Arithmetic made me weep & applaud. Scriptmodernized early parts in New Rochelle, the concentration camp stuff was tw hankies worth. Now I can only hope that the theater opens up again in NYC.

Finished my new middle grade novel (1of 3). Sent it on to the editor--SEA DRAGON OF FIFE. Book 1 of the Royal & Ancient Monster Hunters trilogy. Also wrote four new poems, had a pair of poems (with Peter) accepted by a fine journal, had5 poems turned down by another journal.

Yep two book day

2 of my editors at 2 different houses are moving on, both out of editing. So it goes. Orphaned again. I am happy for the ways they are finding a new path. I am stuck on the old one. So, now my job is to find who the new editors will be & find the best way to work with each.

Tomorrow, Heidi and I will drive up to Bellows Falls, VT to do a sort of impromptu outside reading of I AM THE STORM outside the Village Square Bookstore because they have used it for their storm preparedness themed story walk. Of course, if there really is a storm......T

WOrking on a book of poems and a novel simultaneously. When one slows down, I turn to the other. Seems to be working so far!

I'm doing an in-person event Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Mystic Ct. Seaport Museum, reading from my new middle grade novel,ARCH OF BONE..The book is a "sequel" to MOBY DICK. The catch--you need to contact the Museum to get on the list. Seating is limited.

I am doing a lot of revising, plunging into old mss. and fniding new ways to tell those stories, writing lots of poetry. DIscovering nre editors (or editors new to me.) Staying at home is a perk for writers, not a punishment.
