During his inaugural address in 2019, Zelensky told lawmakers: “I do not want my picture in your offices: the President is not an icon, an idol or a portrait. Hang your kids' photos instead, and look at them each time you are making a decision.”

“Wherever I go, I’ll take you.” Their lives had been entwined for longer than their nearly four decades of marriage. After they left China for New York, their love for each other magnified. Then a brutal attack tore them apart. nyti.ms/3uX6F3L

A thread for skeptics, minimizers & those wondering why it's a big deal: EVERY SINGLE woman in medicine/science has either been sexually harassed or knows someone who has been. The vast majority of incidents go unreported. Few of the incidents reported lead to consequences 1/6

Admitting that we have something to learn doesn’t just show humility. It improves relationships. When we acknowledge that we don't know everything, others feel more psychologically safe—and become more effective. Expressing our desire to get better can help others get better.

It's time to stop dumping thankless tasks on women. Women get more asks than men to serve on committees, plan events, and take notes. They're more likely to be penalized if they say no—and taken for granted if they say yes. Work should be divided equitably by role, not gender.
