Congratulations to my brilliant friend and colleague, Katie Meehan, on securing a €2 milllion ERC grant to advance #plumbingpoverty work! I'm grateful to play a small role in telling this important geographic story.
Ever wondered what I think about the challenges facing the future of geographical thought and praxis? Check out my new piece in Dialogues in Human Geography to learn why I think we need to do a better job at embracing fuzziness, esp. in critical quant/GIS research 🔗👉 doi.org/10.1177/204382…
Join us next Friday, Aug. 25 as we present our interactive web-based map highlighting the geography of racist Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CCRs) in Tucson that were enacted between 1912-1968. Funded by the 2022 Mellon Borderlands grant funding from University of Arizona Libraries.
📍Our paper 'The Ground Rent Machine' is out in American Association of Geographers! Using critical quant, we illustrate the uneven and racialized geog of ground rent in Baltimore (roughly 1 in 3 homes), shaping the geog of segregation and housing inequality. Grateful to Dillon Mahmoudi my dear friend + colleague.
🗞️NEW LAW in AZ takes down barriers for those wanting to redact racist language from their CC&Rs👍 See the research Jason Jurjevich and his team had for Arizona Daily Star in the link below with a link to Mapping Racist Covenant's site in the comments 🔗🔗 tucson.com/news/local/ari…
