For the World Cup, Qatar's infrastructure provides comfort for fans via air-conditioning. But, workers who built them did not have such luxury. They braved intense heat leading to illnesses like chronic kidney disease. Ed Kashi and TIME report on this. lnkd.in/edcpfnjs

In Project HeatSafe, we monitored the environmental conditions of 19 outdoor worksites across a year. Mean maximum hourly WBGT exceeded high heat stress risk levels at all sites. It is pertinent that employers take ownership of environmental monitoring to ensure workers' safety.

To evaluate the impact of heat stress on occupational work in Singapore, we profiled construction workers at 3 worksites in a warm month and a cool month. This effort would cumulate in an interventional study at an outdoor worksite later this year! Global Heat Health Information Network Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine
