My abstract for 8th EvoDemoSoc Annual Meeting in Paris has been accepted. I will talk about the effects of poaching on the family structure of elephant herds. I am looking forward to the conference!

Straight into elephant demography at 8th EvoDemoSoc Annual Meeting. Jasper Croll presenting data on how poaching disrupts family groups, with implications for mortality and fecundity (fertility for those of us who spend too much time thinking about humans)

Today I presented an example of how poaching could affect the kin structure of African elephants at the 8th EvoDemoSoc Annual Meeting conference in Paris!

On the ferry to Texel. Tomorrow morning I will talk at NIOZ about my work on density dependent growth in fish stocks. @NIOZnieuws

Congratulations to Jasper Croll and @andrederoos61, winners of ESA Theoretical Ecology 2023 Outstanding Paper in Theoretical Ecology! As sponsors of this award, we are delighted to offer our books and SFI swag as prizes for your break-the-mold paper.

Announcing this year's break-the-mold paper award! The best paper goes to Jasper Croll and @andrederoos61: The regulating effect of growth plasticity on the dynamics of structured populations, published in Theoretical Ecology (link.springer.com/article/10.100…) (1/3)
