Message from Chairman Jay S. Jacobs: The so called “Proud Boys” marched in Rockville Centre on Saturday. They have nothing to be proud of. Not unless ignorance, bigotry, hate and standing on the losing side of history has become something that elicits pride.

State Political organizations need to lead by encouraging the exchange of ideas, not by promoting hateful speech. But then again, this is the same Party that did not condemn the Jan 6th insurrection that has caused the death of multiple police officers by Trump loyalists.

Following GOP Chairman Nick Langworthy’s Convention remarks where he stated “We need to start acting like the Ukrainians, like the everyday citizens who are risking their lives for freedoms,” New York State Democratic Party Chair Jay S. Jacobs released the following statement:

“If Chairman Langworthy is so interested in “acting like the Ukrainians” to protect our freedoms, perhaps he should start by condemning the January 6th insurrection and all those who promoted it.”

Republican politicians are refusing to condemn their party’s leader as he praises Putin for invading a U.S. ally. It’s un-American.

I sat across a table from Lee Zeldin for 17 depositions during the 1st impeachment. He was the member the GOP relied on to peddle every false conspiracy theory they could think of. Even Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows would not go there. Zeldin is far too extreme for any office.
