Today I have written to the CEOs of major supermarkets asking them to give social care workers the same access to their shops as NHS workers, because both are at the front line of our Coronavirus battle. As well as our weekly #ClapForCarers let’s help our carers however we can.

The idea that people are dying in care homes and then, having been abandoned in this crisis, their deaths aren’t even being properly counted in the statistics thereby denying them even the most basic respect makes my blood boil. #coronavirusuk #carehomes

Over 2000 deaths in care homes and no meaningful recognition, help or support is sadly not shocking but it is disgusting
