1. People with DoC make measurable functional improvement. 2. The earlier they come to inpatient rehab, the more functional improvement they make. 3. Rehab is equally important for DoC caused by any etiology. 4. Chronic DoC should not be overlooked. #TIRRDoCOutcomePaper2023

We need more stories like this shared/published to increase awareness of good outcomes that are possible after severe brain injury. Falsely assumed poor prognosis and futility in rehab can limit patients' recovery potential more than their brain injury itself.
