The first step toward the future of downtown Omaha! The groundbreaking at Gene Leahy Mall begins the revitalization of our riverfront, creating three extraordinary parks to transform downtown. So happy to welcome former Omaha Mayor Gene Leahy's family to the ceremony today.

At the State of the City, we recognized all city employees who help us meet our public safety goals; police officers and firefighters, the street maintenance team, our housing inspectors and the community center managers who helped shelter the Yale Park families.

The Center Street bridge at Highway 275 washed out overnight, one of many roads closed in western Douglas County. It's very important to remind drivers not to drive around barricades. These roads are underwater and closed for your safety.

Reports that Omaha's drinking water has been compromised by flooding or is in short supply are not accurate. There is no threat to the drinking water supply as reported by MUD. Please help us get this important message out.

After reviewing aerial photos taken today, the Center Street bridge that washed out is at 240th Street, not Highway 275. Please plan ahead, and again for your safety, please don't drive around barricades or drive through water!
