I'm at tory conference bumping into brilliant sector leaders and fringe hopping. Great event yesterday from British Future on social mobility- my takeaway:for women we need to broaden the toolbox from education and job opps to inc childcare, flex work and rebalancing care

Interesting discussion from Tony Blair Institute for Global Change on seizing the opps of AI. My q for the panel: how do we ensure AI doesnt reinforce gender inequality. Great insights from Jess Whittlestone about importance of transparency in systems & datasets for accountability & needing women in the room

Fantastic to see two of our major calls taken on by The Labour Party Ireland Anneliese Dodds- reporting on candidate demographics and making misogyny a hate. 🎉 crime. independent.co.uk/news/uk/anneli…

Thanks to Shelagh Fogarty for the change to talk about the misogyny we've seen laid bare with Helen MacNamara's evidence to the COVID Inquiry. This is a nasty and devastating example of something many women know all too well

Great research from Early Education and Childcare Coalition launched in parliament today on Retention&return: Delivering the expansion of early years entitlement in England. We must grow the workforce AND keep the amazing educators already working under huge pressure for low pay

Good to hear Charlie Taylor on R4 this morning re. the rate of self-harm in the youth estate. Yet only boys discussed - our briefing, due on Thursday, will highlight that girls & young women in custody are badly affected and in urgent need of gender-specific attention.

We're proud to support 50:50 Parliament & share their passion to inspire women to stand for elected office. From tackling domestic abuse to investing in childcare, when women hold positions of power it creates change that benefits us all. #AskHerToStand

It's #EqualPayDay. From today women effectively work for free till the end of the year because of the gender pay gap. If you're 40+ the gap wont close before you reach pension age! New research from Fawcett Society calls for job flex from advertising stage.

My ex-teammates Fawcett Society doing sterling work again this #EqualPayDay 🪧 That’s the day in the year when, based on average pay, women overall stop being paid compared to men. At the current rate of change, this gap won’t close before women aged 40+ reach State Pension age.

With a gender pay gap of 10.7%, Equal Pay Day falls on 22nd November this year – TODAY is the day in the year when, based on average pay, women overall stop being paid compared to men. Further stats and analysis from the brilliant org that is Fawcett Society

Thank you Rachel Reeves for acknowledging that it's #EqualPayDay in your response to the #AutumnStatement today. "The living standards of working women have been held back." We must close the gender pay gap. Read our full EPD 2023 briefing: bit.ly/3RayT6c
