Great to be back Sheffield DocFest for the first time since the pandemic. A much-needed reminder of the dedication and talent of so many filmmakers in this rollercoaster of an industry. Good to catch up with so many friends and colleagues including Team True Vision Productions and Candour Productions

Can’t recommend this film highly enough. A big shout out to Georgina Cammalleri for her utterly compelling, funny and emotive feature doc debut. A life-affirming watch about women fighting for recognition in a sport they love Sheffield DocFest

So lucky to have seen this unique and extraordinary film today and meet Otto Baxter His and mum Lucy’s story brought tears to my eyes several times (along with belly laughs and some squeamish eye shutting!). Congrats Otto Baxter for your directing debut and to all Story Films

For 5 months I’ve been working on this documentary wIth Panorama. It’s been a thorough investigation into the behaviour of the UCKG. Time in BBC 1, 8pm tonight on BBC Panorama BBC News Africa #bbcnews #UCKG #billionairebishop

Haven’t posted in a while but this article by Marina Hyde about the value of compliance teams from public service broadcasters like the BBC is spot on. Recommended reading for anyone enjoying #BabyReindeer amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

“This is where the truth is told or can be told in a really stark way”. Poignant words from Idris Elba at Sheffield DocFest this morning about the power of documentary storytelling and his experience of making important upcoming National Geographic series Erased: WWII’s Heroes of Colour.

Saddened to learn that Dr Sue Johnson passed away a few weeks ago having only just discovered her trailblazing research. Her words from this insightful podcast are still ringing in my ears- Relationship Science should be national curriculum as she wished podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the…

Fab evening at The Grierson Trust Awards. Congrats to all nominees and winners- important to keep celebrating the power of quality documentary filmmaking during this huge period of change for the industry. Real privilege to have gone this year as a Reviewer.
