"Integrating cellular electron microscopy with multimodal data to explore biology across space and time"🔬👩💻🌌⏳ cell.com/cell/fulltext/… Our new review is online Cell. Big thanks to our amazing co-authors @computingCaitie Sven Klumpe Rommie Amaro Wanda Kukulski @EM_STP

How can genetic perturbation of a central scaffolding component of the #nuclearpore result in a tissue specific defect? Work by Reiya_Taniguchi and others in collaboration with Valerie Doye makes this more conceivable (Max Planck Institute of Biophysics Institut Jacques Monod): biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Collaborative work led by Sven Klumpe resolves the structure of a mobile genetic element inside of developing tissue. Together with @juliusbrennecke John Briggs and the fabulous Jürgen M Plitzko. #cryoET biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Fantastic moment (of many) @ #MBLPhysiology Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) w/ students looking at microtubules & freshly-purified squid kinesin on TIRF microscope they just built! This student team shepherded by Evangelos Gatzogiannis & fellow microscopists Tanner Fadero Jenny Sachweh Andrew York

Fantastic image of the slime mold physarum, taken by Lucas Graham in the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) Physiology course (Gladfelter Lab rotation) on a ZEISS Microscopy AxioZoom microscope. Shown are traces of fluorescent beads flowing inside the organism.

After thousands of microscope hours and several years of painstaking optimisation, Callie Glynn and I are very excited to share our latest manuscript. We outline our approach to investigate the molecular organisation within hippocampus tissue using cryo-ET.

Emotional leaving event for Reiya_Taniguchi who is departing Max Planck Institute of Biophysics towards RIKEN. Best of Luck Reiya!

Looking forward to this lineup of exciting talks at this pre-ASCB workshop on Friday! Thanks Uri Manor 💔 and Elizabeth Villa for the chance to present my cryoET work on NPC asymmetry in the Beck Laboratory!

Ever joined a new lab and felt that not knowing where/what stuff is was holding your research back? Yeah, same. Kudos to Kage & Taylor from our lab for a beautiful piece in Trends in Biochemical Sciences highlighting how lab inventory systems support independence. doi.org/10.1016/j.tibs…
