This has been the longest and hardest decision that I and my colleagues in Parliament from all parties and none have had to deal with. However, I have now come to reach my decision at the third reading of the Terminally ill Adults (End of Life) Bill and tomorrow is the vote...

Please, MPs, before you vote on tomorrow’s AD bill, I beg you to ask yourselves why the Royal College of Psychiatrists felt compelled to publicly oppose it…. Ask yourselves why the vast majority of palliative care doctors, geriatricians & groups representing people with disabilities, eating

Every MP is wrestling with enormity of the decision we need to take on Assisted Dying. I’d like to thank everyone who has shared their views. I’ve read them all. I will be voting against on Friday as I remain concerned about the impact on the NHS and on vulnerable people.

Spot on from Luciana Berger - this bill is deeply flawed. Tomorrow the House of Commons will not vote on a principle but on whether this bill is fit to become law. It is not. It endangers the most vulnerable people we represent.

If I was facing a vote on a hugely consequential bill and I wasn’t 100% sure on it, I would quite simply not take the risk. “The bill isn’t perfect, but” no!! There are terrifying, irreversible consequences and vulnerable lives at stake. If you aren’t sure, you can’t vote yes.

“I think the only reason I’m alive is because, actually, they never gave up” - We must not give up on people by voting for the Assisted Dying Bill today. telegraph.co.uk/gift/4ef704514…

In 2017 a young British woman with an eating disorder asked her doctors to arrange for her to go to Dignitas. Drs said they couldn't as it was a crime. Her parents speak out today as MPs vote to make assisted death lawful HERE. The anorexia loophole is WIDE open.

The Assisted Dying Bill Like many of my colleagues in Parliament I’ve have been heavily engaged in the debate over Assisted Dying. However, this debate is no longer about the principle of assisted dying but the Bill in front of MPs which I and many of my Labour colleagues

The act of vandalism committed at RAF Brize Norton is disgraceful. Our Armed Forces represent the very best of Britain and put their lives on the line for us every day. It is our responsibility to support those who defend us.

Annually, ~130 UK women are probably murdered by a partner/relative but have their deaths recorded as suicide or an accident. Assisted dying would open the floodgates for more fatal domestic abuse. Jess Asato MP

One of the most compelling speeches in today’s debate — from an MP who’s clearly taken the time to listen to experts and examine the evidence. Thank you for giving our community a voice, Naz Shah MP

Parliament is about to vote on the Assisted Dying Bill. I tried so hard to find a way for my vote to be counted so I could stay with my family. It beggars belief that this wasn’t possible. As such, I have just arrived at the House of Commons to vote against this Bill.
