Standard 'travelling to EPOP' tweet. £120 train and no WiFi and no refreshments as "the shop door locked and we can't open it" BUT having fun selecting the great panels I want to go to! #epop24

A piece of advice we got in this small survey that I really liked was "it takes a community to build an academic". With that in mind I recommend joining PSA Women & Politics or GenElect Network (although I am biased as I convene both of these groups...)

Excited to see my article 'Balancing Politics and Parenthood' in EJPR journal is out. In a UK study, I find that the public do not punish MPs for taking parental leave. In fact, for women there is some electoral advantage. ejpr.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…

Very interesting study showing that actually making politics more family friendly is not - as some suggest a liability - but in fact an electoral advantage. The public want a parliament that is modernised. Its now upto parliament to respond.

⚖️ Balancing politics & parenthood Using conjoint experiments in the UK 🇬🇧, Jessica C. Smith finds that voters do not punish MPs that take parental leave. In fact, voters prefer women MPs who take leave after having children #OpenAccess 🔓 bit.ly/4ePMqcW
