6 Crystallizations and out of all of them only 1 giant single crystal formed π. The structures a catalytic intermediate and was absolutely bonkers π€―! If you're attending QOMSBOC 2024 this year drop by and see what it is!

Saturday at QOMSBOC is starting strong with a talk from our own MaryamJabbarpoor on her recent publication on Suzuki couplings of carbamoyl fluorides!

Slowly working our way up to the legendary Xiao-level scale π thanks Jesse LeBlanc for our largest PDFA top-up yet

Check out this sample from our lab Dalhousie Chemistry that behaves as a blue-yellow colorimetric thermometer! Video credit: me, playing in the lab instead of writing the paper. Synthesis credit: PhD student Will Howlett

Our latest publication now in ASAPs at Organometallics! Congrats to Meilin Lim for paper #3. Thanks to Jesse LeBlanc, Charley Garrard and Chris Caputo for help with crystallography, and Sterling RenzoniβοΈπ§ with the TOC! Trent University Trent University Chemistry pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acβ¦

Teaching update: The last few main-group chem graduate courses I've taught have produced Wikipedia articles, that are internally peer reviewed, to make #maingroup content more accessible to the public. One of this year's first to be posted is on borirene: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borirene

Hexa-valent nickel! Joeβs work unveiling a new valence state for nickel is (finally) published - out now in J. Am. Chem. Soc. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/jaβ¦ chem.ox.ac.uk/article/the-fiβ¦ Oxford Chemistry Josef Boronski

Thank you for this wonderful recognition and opportunity to attend IUPAC 2025 in Malaysia!
