We could lower that age cutoff even more Charlie M. Wray, DO, MS! 85? 80? I'm significantly younger & want to be discharged asap, but are we thinking older adults don't advocate for discharge? Or families & inpt teams concerned about discharging older adults more?

Gonna be on NPR's Marketplace this evening, talking about older folks with mortgages who can't rely on home equity to fund retirement, assisted living or downsizing. Are they aging in place or stuck in place? marketplace.org

Research about private equity ownership in Geri & pall care so important now. SNF & PACE are other areas to look! @klharrisonPhD Lauren Hunt

It was an honor to be on the GeriPal - A Geriatrics & Palliative Care Podcast podcast on Asian hate incidents & their effects on older adults. It's a topic that led me to On Lok PACE, National PACE Assn to be closer to the AAPI community & solving social isolation.

This qualitative study of internal medicine residents investigated factors moderating imposter phenomenon. Proactively addressing these factors could contribute to creating supportive environments that foster the success of residents bit.ly/3ZsFFc3 #MedEd Susan C. Mirabal

We happily welcomed UCSF School of Medicine students at 5 On Lok PACE sites in SF today, including the wonderful LGBTQ+ focused site w/OpenHouse. Students learned about PACE & will compare to other models (SNF, RCFE, home care) tomorrow in discussion groups UCSF Geriatrics

Both On Lok PACE Institute on Aging also hosted UCSF School of Medicine students to teach about PACE. Students assured us they would tell their colleagues PACE is definitely the best model for #geriatrics care! My wisdom for them: "There's no pill I can prescribe for social isolation!" #MedEd

Had a blast co-facilitating UCSF School of Medicine student small group cases w/pediatrician Dr. Raul Gutierrez on how to support grandparent caregivers for kids! One of my favorite teaching activities w/UCSF Geriatrics & On Lok PACE each year. #meded

Sitting with my fellow PACE PCPs listening to Adam Marks, MD MPH FAAHPM talk about prognostication. I should have known this, but it makes sense... The closer a physician is to a patient the less accurate their prediction of life expectancy is. Hope for the best, plan for the worst #hpm

What a beautiful place to go over my slides for a few minutes outside Stanford Medicine. Thankful for Dr. Alex Cours to talk w your fellows about strengths-based career planning & #leadership

Thank you Louise Walter.bsky.social for sharing this Michelle Obama quote. Love seeing all those who have inspired me, my geriatrics peers from UCSF Geriatrics.bsky.social & BMC|BU Geriatrics Fellowship, & those I've mentored along the way. Need our #geriatrics community now more than ever #AGS25

Excited to start Summer National PACE Association National PACE Assn conference talking about beginner's mindset and compassionate leadership
