Today, JICA held a workshop for ex-participants of JICA training in Japan in collaboration with JICA Alumni Association of Nigeria. They shared solutions for implementing their action plans, so that they can expand their good practices to their colleagues and other target groups.

FCT Nutrition Project held a training on techniques of storage of beans and drying vegetables at three sites in Abuja Municipal and Gwagwalada. Learning how to keep crops properly with a longer period after harvest is meaningful for consuming or selling them in different timing.

Today, JICA on behalf of the Government of Japan handed over agricultural inputs to FMARD for distribution to 1,500 small-scale rice farmers in nine states for mitigation on impact of COVID-19 on food security. The support aims to improve dry season cultivation yields.

This week with support of the Japanese Embassy, JICA and UNDP organised a workshop for local government officials from North-East Nigeria on peacebuilding and recovery. Participants are to adapt the lessons learnt from Japan’s experience in their respective states.

As a part of COVID19 response, JICA conducted a workshop with FCT RUWASSA: Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency on borehole maintenance for hygiene promotion in rural communities. We also provided maintenance tools, so that continuous maintenance by participants are expected.

JICA held an Initiative for Food and Nutrition Security in Africa (INFA) workshop with Ministry of Budget and National Planning. Concept notes on interventions for nutrition improvement in six target states was shared with stakeholders for adoption into their programs/projects.
