We shown the very first quantitative evidence to localise the sequestration of C55 oligosaccharide intermediates to the cytosolic face of the cytoplasmic membrane. Thanks Microbiology Society for giving the concise story a good home. microbiologyresearch.org/content/journa…

Our new work showed an adjusted level of membrane fluidity, not too wobbly, and not too rigid, is beneficial for biofilm development in E. coli; we hypothesise this is likely the case with many species, and actions taken during transitions depend on their planktonic cell statues.

Isolated in just 3 years! (Much faster than the 12 years in our previous study). We cultured two strains from 'Hodarcaheales', proposed to be closest to our archaeal ancestors. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Our student Xavier Bertran (who is not on X) worked out that in a closed culture system, the nitro oxide donor SNP, in addition to its role in dispersing PAO1 biofilms, promotes PAO1 biofilm and planktonic cell growth, potentially through donating its iron centre.
