This half acre park has a popular basketball court and, now, a brand new playground! For our neighbors in Ortega Farms, Westconnett, Venetia, and Ortega, this one is in biking distance and shaded by oaks during hot days.

Ortega neighbors, the Ortega Carriage House project will be withdrawn by City Council next Tuesday evening. The property has been sold. Any future projects that require rezoning would have to come back before City Council.

Whenever the world makes you cynical, remember D-Day. With courage and determination, the impossible became possible. Today, we honor the heroes who fought for freedom and turned the tide of history. 📷: “Into the Jaws of Death,” June 6, 1944.

Today is Juneteenth— 160 years since Union troops arrived in Galveston to enforce emancipation and free the last enslaved Black Americans. We honor the progress made and continue the fight for justice, equity, and the promise of liberty for all.

Let’s get back to doing the good work Jacksonville is asking for us to do: housing affordability, homelessness, economic development, and establishing a neighborhood Bill of Rights. Thank you, Mayor Donna Deegan for vetoing 2025-138.
