Huge step forward as we completed the first MRI-gated breathhold sbrt treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center using the Elekta Unity MRL. Real time MRI obtained 5x per second allowed the patient to see their own anatomy. Shoutout to Jinzhong Yang and the MRL team for making it happen.

Amazing 3 day workshop with Elekta optimizing breath-hold continuous motion gating for kidney cancer at MD Anderson Cancer Center with Michael Saracen and Jinzhong Yang . Got to get my kidney "treated" during the workshop and gained appreciation for what patients experience.

To orient everyone, the video is 5x MRI/second showing my kidney which i actively breath into a tight+2mm structure (PTV) in yellow. When the bottom tracing is orange my kidney is out of the PTV and beam is off. When the tracing is clear the kidney is in the PTV and beam is on.
