Strange radio light and the behavior of stars around the heart of the Milky Way pointed to the possibility of something many scientists did not know how to approach. In the early 1990s, several scientists began research on what many thought to be an unsuccessful mission:

Hi Redshift Wranglers! The summer is flying by, and our first office hours of the summer are coming up this Friday, June 28 at 4pm EST: zooniverse.org/projects/jeyha… Bring your questions or just come to listen and hang out with other researchers and volunteers.

S0–2 is a star that made the closest known approach to the Milky Way’s supermassive black hole. Seeing how it behaved while under the violent pull of the black hole made for an exciting gravity test - the first of its kind. Did the star obey Einstein’s theory? Or defy our current

In Japan at a meeting with my second family --COSMOS Survey ! Woke up this morning to the news that our Multi-Cycle Treasury Program with Hubble was accepted, obtaining 6 filters of data in COSMOS over the next three years (642 orbits). I can't wait to work with these new data!!

RIT 3-Minute Thesis Competition I was awarded an honorable mention award for the RIT 3-Minute Thesis Competition! It was quite challenging to present my thesis in 3 minutes, but it was fun. I hope to participate in this competition again next year!

Hi Redshift Wranglers! As we wrap up November, we have so much gratitude for all of you. Your interest, curiosity, and enthusiasm make this project, and we’re grateful to everyone who has joined our journey to uncover the mysteries of the early Universe and learn about galaxies!

Professor Jeyhan studies NASA Webb Telescope images to identify the structure and shape of early galaxies. Scientists like Jeyhan are finding more early galaxies than anticipated, challenging our understanding of the universe's infancy seattlepi.com/news/article/h… SeattlePI

I participated in the 2nd round (Area Contest) of Toastmasters International speech contest. It was so challenging since all contestants gave such phenomenal speeches today. It was already a new milestone for me just to participate in this contest! It was fun!

Just finished a 1-hour colloquium talk about galaxy evolution at the Astronomy Section of the Rochester Academy of Science! I’m glad so many people asked me questions in this talk! It was so fun giving a long talk like this. ❤️

Michelle Ntampak gives an uproarious talk about "Trustworthy Machine Learning for Scientific Discovery with Roman Surveys." She shows us how just a little noise can result in a Panda being classified as a Gibbon. 🐼❌🐒 #RomanCartography #ExpandOurView #NASARoman

I had an opportunity to present my research at the Cosmic Cartography with Roman Telescope symposium! I’m glad to be able to share some preliminary results of the CHESS survey with everyone there. #RomanCartography
