More than a million pallets of unusable Covid PPE costing more than £8 billion have so far gone up in smoke Billions were spent on unusable protective equipment, with priority contracts handed to associates of Conservative ministers bylinetimes.com/2024/11/14/mor…

I was initially on the fence about #assisteddying. I agreed in principle, but had concerns (see Canada for example). Over a very short time, politicians and media have shown that overall, there’s no fucking way this country should be trusted with assisted dying.

Fraser Nelson Of course, not every person with Long Covid will need to stop working. It affects each person differently. But a significant proportion (~28%) of LC sufferers are severely debilitated by their symptoms and are no longer able to work. link.springer.com/article/10.100…

Early this year my MP sent questions to DfE on air quality in schools and its effects on attendance. Q4 I asked if UKHSA guidance to schools should be updated in light of the high levels of illness in schools (during an ongoing pandemic) /1

The most frustrating thing about the increase of people becoming long-term sick is that not only are some of them unable to work, some of them desperately need a safety net too. Fancy that.

Doctor admits her patient died because she couldn’t diagnose lymphoma unless they removed their mask. Doctors need to adapt. There’s no reason they couldn’t palpate a lymph node on a masked patient. She’s since deleted the post, perhaps because it shows utter incompetence

Just over 40% of covid deaths in the pandemic peaks were under 80 years old in England. That also takes into account the tragic policy around care homes.

I wonder if govt ditched drink-driving laws and there was an increase in accidents how much of this we’d see: - it’s only a drink, most people survive - accidents don’t exist - sure, you can’t stop all accidents, so why stop any - life limiting injuries mustn’t be acknowledged

“As a community, we’ve been put through a mental and physical wringer. But we carry on fighting because it’s our lifeline at stake.”  After the chaos of last night’s welfare vote, most of the media spoke to MPs. I wanted to speak to disabled people: theguardian.com/politics/2025/…

This is pretty amazing. Rent out air purifiers for free in Edinburgh. For prevention of Covid-19 but also good for pollution too. What’s not to like 🤷🏻‍♀️ Great effort.

Some of the people who felt ‘worried’ about people who were vulnerable during lockdown are sure doing a good job of exchanging that worry for vitriol now.
