To the millions who cherish nature, our country without its natural heritage is not Britain at all. We can do better than bolt-on commuter dormitories. I’m fighting for the green spaces we all love, and for a country where everyone is surrounded by proof that life is beautiful.

The government's Planning and Infrastructure bill is a charter for greed that allows developers to pay cash to trash nature. Disappointing to see the minister misleadingly quote RSPB's Rebecca Speight when she's been clear about the huge risks of this bill.

I voted against the Planning & Infrastructure Bill. Whilst some good elements, govt refused key amendments so it's deeply flawed: no social housing target and it weakens critical protections for nature, meaning it's a developers' charter - so Green MPs had no choice but to oppose

We told the minister to stop saying the CEO of the RSPB does not support the Planning Bill. The Bill is clearly not good for nature he should be ashamed of himself for lying to the house!

Chalk streams are vital habitats—85% are in England, 10% in Herts. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. Nature bodies are warning they're in danger—even before the Planning and Infra Bill passes. I'll keep working with The Wildlife Trusts to ensure they get the protection they need.
