#ALG2024 Looking back at ideas shared during #ALG2023, while also looking forward to even deeper conversations upcoming at this year's ALG, we remember Juanita 🇺🇬's insights on Africa's vulnerability to the vagaries of climate change and what we can do about it.

#ALG2024 Juanita 🇺🇬 also argued during #ALG2023 for climate justice i.e., reshaping the energy transition plan as designed in Uganda's Green Growth Development Strategy GGGI Uganda to make it more inclusive and equitable. Empower ordinary people to be skilled in green jobs.

Earlier today, we hosted a side event on lasting transformation and change, sharing our experience and key learnings from organizing communities for climate justice. Appreciative of the center for environmental justice for giving us this opportunity to share our work.

The COP29 decision supporting carbon markets on its first day is a triple blow against climate justice, nature and communities! These are not only false solutions to the climate crisis but also perpetuate the extractive colonial model of development and human rights violations.
