The Njeru community demands are clear! We are not “begging”the responsible authorities to put strict measures on polluting companies, we are “DEMANDING” for our right to clean and safe water.#ToaUchafu #SaveTheNile

Its a new week, and the demands of the people of Njeru are still not yet attended to. Just polictics being played. Alot of "we are looking into the matter." Are the industry owners in bed with the government 🤨??? There is no #ClimateJustice without #WaterJustice #ToaUchafu

We are bold & cannot be silenced! We demand for justice for the Njeru community. Polluting companies can’t center profit at the huge expense of communities along the Nile River. We can no longer BEG. We DEMAND for our rights to safe and clean water. #SaveTheNile #ToaUchafu

#ALG2024 Looking back at ideas shared during #ALG2023, while also looking forward to even deeper conversations upcoming at this year's ALG, we remember Juanita 🇺🇬's insights on Africa's vulnerability to the vagaries of climate change and what we can do about it.

#ALG2024 Juanita 🇺🇬 also argued during #ALG2023 for climate justice i.e., reshaping the energy transition plan as designed in Uganda's Green Growth Development Strategy GGGI Uganda to make it more inclusive and equitable. Empower ordinary people to be skilled in green jobs.

Earlier today, we hosted a side event on lasting transformation and change, sharing our experience and key learnings from organizing communities for climate justice. Appreciative of the center for environmental justice for giving us this opportunity to share our work.

The COP29 decision supporting carbon markets on its first day is a triple blow against climate justice, nature and communities! These are not only false solutions to the climate crisis but also perpetuate the extractive colonial model of development and human rights violations.

We are still having our ears on the ground at COP29 Azerbaijan as we wait for a powerful decision on the new collective quantified goal on finance by the end of this week. Our demands remain the same✊🏾 ✅Direct access for marginalized communities. Trillions not Billions.#PayUpTheDebt

Mind-blown by the Reworlding Showcase at GirlsForClimateAction .Did you know that various species of trees can be BOTH food and medicine? Nature's pharmacy is truly amazing! Let's preserve our forests and harness their power sustainably. #G4CA2024

As #CSW69 opens, Member States have already adopted a strong Political Declaration, committing to respect, protect & promote rights, equality and empowerment for all women and girls. We are following discussions on women & environment as one of the 12 critical areas in the BPfa.

It’s deeply troubling to see companies like Total Energies, Pepsi, and other major polluters sponsoring Uganda's Water and Environment Week. This is nothing more than greenwashing, using environmental events to mask their harmful impact on the planet. Shame!

From our panel today at #CSW69, rural women and girls have constantly showed us that they are not mere victims of the climate crisis. They are architects of a better future. We need to take investment in women as not mere charity, but a valid investment. African Women's Development Fund

🌱 Orchard Week is here! 🌱 Through the Green Master Program, students are getting hands-on with tree planting, orchard care, and eco-games, turning schools into hubs of climate action! Let’s plant the future, one tree at a time! #OrchardWeek GirlsForClimateAction
