National Highways needs to write guarantees into its contracts so that contractors have to both deliver and maintain mitigation measures, with safeguards in case they go out of business. transportactionnetwork.org.uk/national-highw…

After increasing your Water Bills 25-50% this year the Water Companies have nearly doubled the pay for their CEOs. We don't need regulation, we need prison cells.

National Highways promise environmental mitigation, but... 3/4s of the 850,000 saplings planted to replace veteran trees felled for the A14 project died. That's around 600,000 dead trees. We look at their broken promises and how much it is costing us transportactionnetwork.org.uk/national-highw…

Are Private Eye jokes now... criminal? PALESTINE Solidarity campaigner Jon Farley was arrested, bundled into a van and taken to the cells during a silent march in Leeds last weekend. What egregious act had prompted the police to act? He was, er, carrying a Private Eye joke piece

Is National Highways accountable to anyone? Whatever metrics are applied National Highways is obviously a failing organisation and yet its leaders (sic) have salaries and pensions to die for. Department for Transport transportactionnetwork.org.uk/national-highw… via @transportactio2

Promises are easy to make. The reality seems to be that National Highways regularly promises new trees in mitigation and then fails to deliver and look after them. transportactionnetwork.org.uk/national-highw…

It is disappointing National Highways has failed to include improving the unusable Haweswater Underpass in the M60 Simister Island scheme design, & refused to commit funding. It shows the lack of priority National Highways gives to improving facilities & access for local people
