Don't want to be discourteous but professionals in mental health settings, for instance haven't even heard of reg 9a as applying to them! And how many hospitals feel bound by it? The legal right to a care supporter (Gloria's Law) would stay with the person whatever the setting

We are supporters of John's Campaign and #GloriasLaw which shares similar goals to our Complex Care in Hospital campaign. Along with ILG Community we want to make sure those of us with PAs are part of any review of regulation or legislation change.

Honoured to be joined by incredible campaigners from Rights For Residents, John's Campaign and Care Rights UK for my debate on maintaining contact in care settings. Their tireless advocacy, often fuelled by personal grief, has sustained a powerful call for change. #GloriasLaw

Dan Carden John's Campaign Thank you Dan for all you and your team continue to do to support us. Whilst it is hard for many of us to keep on repeating what our loved ones went through, it is vital that we get #GloriasLaw, the legal right to maintain contact #CareSupporter #RightsForResidents

Connection with loved ones is not an optional extra – it is essential to dignified care. The Government must deliver on the promise for a legal right to maintain contact in care settings, so that no one is isolated when they need support the most. #GloriasLaw

The UK Covid-19 Inquiry is an opportunity for crucial change within social care as well as examining the failures of the past. Our hearts are with the bereaved families of all the UK nations. We pledge to support them & do all we can to ensure that every moment is well used.

Can we suggest Stephen Kinnock , if you are in a listening mood, that you pass #GloriasLaw - the legal right for all to have a #CareSupporter in any health or care setting - or is it selective listening? #RightsForResidents

Painful and frustrating watching Matt Hancock's at the Covid Inquiry today. Felt I needed go for my Grandma Sheila Lamb who died, in a care home, on 2.4.20. She definitely didn't benefit from a '"protective ring". As P Wetherby KC said on Monday we could & should have done better

The Inquiry has heard important evidence from Prof Rayner, on behalf of National Care Forum, that advice issued to the care sector by the Government during the pandemic was inadequate, inaccurate and unsuitable. Yet more evidence that the Care Sector was an afterthought.

Aaaaand… “palliative care” is mentioned once. Once. In 168 pages. Our 10 year plan for dying people is: - Neighbourhood teams will include hospice and palliative care staff. - Use of Personal Health Budgets for accessing hospice care.
