I try not to get too political on here but If defense going from 3 to 4 man front is ā€œsimulatingā€ a snap then why do we allow to offense to shift, motion, hard count etc. We are dumbing down football to cater to one side of the ball.

"Action that simulates a snap" so if the defense can't move or change stance from left to right, does this mean the offensive can't shift once on the line of scrimmage, the QB can't move or hard count, no more freeze counts, all which simulate a snap?
