Our Armed Forces make extraordinary sacrifices to keep us safe. We’re investing an extra £1.5 billion through the Strategic Defence Review to fix forces housing. We’re putting our people at the heart of defence plans, ensuring forces families get the homes they deserve.

National security is central to our Plan for Change. We will: • Deliver the largest sustained increase in defence spending since the Cold War. • Invest in better housing for military families. • Create more skilled jobs in new weapons factories. This is just the start.

We said we’d deliver for Scotland and we are where others step aside. A new Rolls Royce welding skills centre in Glasgow will provide the next generation of world class welders to the shipbuilding industry in Scotland and across the UK. The SNP won’t fund it - we will.

The Strategic Defence Review is clear our forces are only as strong as the industry that stands behind them. Yesterday I saw this in action at MBDA UK. And it's why today we've confirmed we’ll procure 7,000 long-range weapons & invest £1.5bn to build 6 new munitions factories.
