I am so happy that American Bloods is in preparation with Farrar,Straus&Giroux for May! And that Doris Kearns Goodwin was so kind as to endorse it: "An unflinching history of our nation, told through the wild, fearful tales of a remarkable American dynasty. This is a breakout book for John Kaag."

It's sad that so little has changed since Sarah Kreps and I wrote this more than a decade ago. So little careful thought has been given to what has become such a central part of modern conflict. archive.nytimes.com/opinionator.bl…

Oh boy--so impressed with Anna Motz's book and this review in The New Yorker. Kathleen Kaag take a look!

In this one, I recall one of the most remarkable experiences I have ever had as a journalist (and why I so adore Doris Kearns Goodwin). wapo.st/3Qtqo5C

I had the pleasure of reading an advance copy of #americanbloods from Farrar,Straus&Giroux —an amazing achievement which follows the thread of one family through American intellectual life. Look for an upcoming chat between John Kaag and me in Literary Hub.

So pleased to see AMERICAN BLOODS out today! Thanks to Ileene Smith for her keen editorial eye, to Farrar,Straus&Giroux for all of their support, and to Kathleen Kaag for walking with me every step of the way!

Don't run/rush/work yourself to death ✔️ "the appropriate response... an existential urgency that has all but vanished in our modern day. I had to stop running and to be totally still in order to realize what I was missing in the rush." By John Kaag theamericanscholar.org/how-to-live-wi…

AI will open a new era for reading. So proud to be creating this with John Dubuque and the team at Rebind Publishing. Join the waitlist--stay tuned!

#Books speak to you?--Not like this. So happy that the The New York Times featured Rebind AI’s AI-enriched #reading platform. And very proud to work alongside my friends and peers, Clancy Martin, M. Goodwin, and John Dubuque, on a project we care deeply about 📚 s.rebind.ai/L5JX5t

What a pleasure to review Brenda Wineapple's new book on the Scopes Trial for The Atlantic this week. Penguin Random House 🐧🏠📚 theatlantic.com/books/archive/…

Very pleased to have THINKING THROUGH WRITING coming out with Princeton University Press this week. Thanks to editorial team led by Matt Rohal and the marketing team led by Ken Barton. Think Strunk and White and critical thinking have a baby--if its ok to think about that.
