Notice the bright reactive change in the fat around the 2nd metatarsal (on the right) just proximal to the inflamed MTP joint. Often overlooked but suggestive of underlying pathology such as osteomyelitis

I am trying to determine what percentage of non-clinical time FCPs (independent or Trust employed) are given. There appears to be quite a variation. Please retweet to reach as many FCPs as possible.

To assess muscle connective tissue in US, especially IM tendon expansion, it is very useful to tilt the probe from a perpedicular orientation of the tendon relative to the probe, to an "elongated" tendon parallel to the probe, and be able to evaluate them properly. #mskrad

Thickening of the lateral branch of the DPN as it passes over the head of the talus. The lateral branch of the DPN innervates the EDB & EHB, but also provides sensory innervation to the lateral mid foot joints. An uncommon cause of lateral mid foot pain.

I am still surprised by how well you can see the terminal parts of the bowel with a standard high frequency probe. This case presented as a subcutaneous lump in the perineal region

Just booked for BMUS in Cardiff this December - hoping to see some old friends and colleagues finally! Have splashed out on MSK upper limb, DVT and bowel workshops and may even make it to the party!

Sometimes notice isolated wasting of the most distal part of soleus (and here medial gastrox- presention idiopathic tendonosis) with more proximal muscle appearing relatively normal. Any thoughts on the mechanism? Lorenzo Masci - appologies the for poor video quality ;o)
