I'm glad to report that Democratic and Republican legislators and my office have made significant progress on legislation to reduce electric rates, which among other things eliminates some of the public benefits from consumers' bills. I encourage the legislature to approve this.

And with that…the state’s next two-year budget has won final passage. The $55.8 billion spending plan just passed the State Senate with a party line vote. The House gave the green light yesterday with a similar vote. The governor has his pen ready to sign it.
