Great illustration - Even if the epidemiological work (study 1) had found an association.. Interventional studies with relevant endpoints are needed to support supplementation! (Just raising serum level of D is NOT a relevant endpoint)

Been involved in guidelines myself. Often more of a compromise than hardcore evidence. Especially when different occupations are involved.
