I'm tired of Democratic senators hinting that the GOP senators are good guys underneath it all and grabbing at every opportunity to normalize them. Warner is a prime example. It's time for him to step down or face a primary. Enough.

This line of argument--Rs admitted in private the Bill sucked but voted out of loyalty to Trump--goes nowhere. Much better to say that pure *corruption* was the reason Rs voted for a bill they knew would undermine the prosperity and wellbeing of their constituents.

The federal tax cuts for the 1% represent a huge opportunity for blue states to reduce fiscal flows (i.e. subsidies of red states). All NY, CT, MA etc have to do is increase state taxes on the 1% to the extent that Trump has cut them.

The problem is that the Democrats have no political & media operations unit that can devise and enforce a coherent, appropriately adversarial message. It's simply not a normal political party with normal partisan skills and determination.

I get why GOP operatives need to latch on to anything. But are the rest of us seriously going to evaluate a politician by going through his 17-year-old self's application forms?
