Finishing #harvest2022 with Chickpea/flax #intercrop we made a few errors but exceeding expectations easier to harvest than anticipated. Definitely on the try again list.

Something relaxing about building shafts when it's cold outside Up-sizing a bit where I can. Hopefully it's the last time I replace it. The lathe and mill are not a necessity for farm machine maintenance but they sure make alot of things easier.

Get a kick out of finance Twitter. People claim they know for certain this or that stock or sector is gonna crash. Or this or that is gonna happen It you know for sure whats gonna happen your best bet is to say nothing to anyone and short, or Buy, and you will be rich!

And first field work of 2023 is ongoing. Have had best luck with high reside pre emergent granular when we apply in the fall or this time of year. Need some weather to move them I to the soil profile. No snow no wind in the winter is a rare combo here so it's go time!

Lots of times in my farming career we will take a break even or even 0 profit feeding cattle in the winter just for the benefits we can get out of manure. Nothing better for long term productivity or fixing poor land (I have lots) than manure.

Cow guys Is there a mathematical case for dry hay? Hay if it's a fantastic crop it will take 3 cuts to make sure the same or less tonnes of feed as one crop of annual grain for silage irrigation can make 1.5- 2 crops if you manage correctly and moisture is not limited

Comparison of intercrop stubble vs monocrop stubble will see how it effects winter wheat survival/ yeild. #ctf is sure nice for this kind of work.

Poured the final apron today, The shop expansion is complete, on time and surprisingly on budget. Great crews my own and outside contractors, all did their jobs well. Been moved in for 6 or 7 months and loving the extra room so far.

#plant25 well underway at Lamb Farms Winter wheat going in the ground behind pea/mustard intercrop With the lower than ever price difference between the supposed superior class (CWRS) and the CPS/CWRW classes. The economics are different than in the past. Try some #winterwheat

Hard to believe that much of the prairies are still too wet to seed! And even still has snow. Lots of acres in southern Alberta have been seeded this past week. And we could use rain already! #plant25

#deere 1590 drills are way too expensive so built this out of wore out 1895 that no one would give me $30,000 for. Nice for small work, and the neighbors seem to like borrowing it!

It's a put option! Is there any advantage to it if you already have a hedging account? manitobacooperator.ca/livestock/six-…
