So ends the first week as a Cllr for Finchley Church End: 1) Town Hall Induction and tour. 2) Ward Cllr meeting to discuss casework. 3) 1st cases raised with officers; pest control to tree team. 4) 1st pothole patrol’ and road reports. Decent start - much more to come!

Hugely enjoyed our trip to St. Mary-at-Finchley to join one of their history tours. We are really excited for their upcoming roof repair and gardens projects. There’s a great deal of local history in St. Mary and they are generously sharing it with the community. Please visit!

This is grotesque. Glorifying violence against Jews isn’t edgy. The West is playing with fire if we allow this sort of behaviour to go unchecked. The cultural establishment needs to wake up to the fact this isn’t protest, it’s incitement. (1/2)

Yesterday’s sunny ‘pothole patrol’ in a serene and green pocket of Finchley Church End. Potholes, broken paving, weeds and litter all reported; while taking in some of the Ward’s best architecture (new and old).

It was a privilege to give my maiden speech as Cllr on Tuesday, including a tribute to the late, great Cllr Eva Greenspan. Nerves jangling but received great support from the Tory benches and the gallery. Blessed to have these colleagues!

Labour’s double whammy for Barnet taxpayers. First, Barnet Labour’s £50m+ emergency loan from Angela Rayner, which all residents will have to repay. Now Labour might have to hike Band D rates by £500 to plug the gap left by Rayners funding formula, A proper Rayner rinsing.
