High perceived companionship was linked to ⬇️ pain severity in Veterans on long-term opioid tx for chronic pain. Opioid dosage changes weren’t tied to companionship levels. Boosting companionship may be a valuable strategy in pain mgmt. Read in #JGIM: buff.ly/2XaiKWi

Use of the Cleveland Clinic model for VTE risk assessment was assoctd w/ a large reduction in overall prophylaxis. When using the model, doctors rx'd prophylaxis to 96% of high-risk patients, but also to 37% of low-risk ones. mrothbergMD Read in #JGIM: buff.ly/OIcTdI2
