Port Police and emergency officials are actively responding to tonight’s Tsunami Advisory. Residents and workers in and around the L.A. Harbor area are urged to stay alert, avoid the waterline, and follow official instructions.

A tsunami warning is now in effect along parts of California’s North Coast — from Cape Mendocino to the Oregon border. California Governor's Office of Emergency Services is coordinating with local officials. Please stay alert and follow instructions from emergency personnel.

Besides parts of Northern California near Crescent City which could see up to 5 ft, the U.S. Tsunami Warning Center is predicting minimal impact to the coast of California, with most areas expected to see less than 1 ft.

This is the current tsunami wave forecast arriving at 1150 PM PDT. Humboldt Co. is forecast to have a max. tsunami ~1 foot. Del Norte is forecast to have a max. wave height of 3-5 foot. People are advised to stay away from beaches, marinas, and harbors as many waves can arrive.

Humboldt County is NOT at high risk of inundation of dry land from a tsunami. This highest risk of inundation is directed toward Crescent City, where 3-5 foot maximum tsunami waves are expected. Humboldt County is expected to have 1-2 foot maximum tsunami waves.
