Very excited to share acceptance of a brief review highlighting methods for assessing skeletal muscle health in vivo. The best part was bringing together 8 PIs from UCF Institute of Ex Phys & Rehab Science. Our collaboration across labs + disciplines UCF is unique. Great work by Jonathan Beausejour in leading us!

Our team was presented w/ a unique opportunity to test a competitive powerlifter following unilateral transtibial amputation. Our novel work highlights an incredible story of physiological adaptation + resilience following tragedy. Kudos to Jonathan Beausejour journals.lww.com/nsca-jscr/abst…

Our lab’s 1st attempt at a preprint, led by Jonathan Beausejour We welcome feedback, especially if you conduct TMS research during active contractions. 🧠UCF CNS Lab

Shoutout to Jonathan Beausejour for earning the UCF Anatomical Sciences Graduate Certificate. This rigorous program prepares students to independently direct a cadaver anatomy lab, from full dissection to admin. He is the 1st UCF Kinesiology PhD student to complete this program 🐐

Excited to share our latest attempt to understand methodological considerations of TMS. We explored if active motor thresholds should be reported with relative vs. absolute thresholds. Please share w/ those conducting #tmsresearch -Great job Jonathan Beausejour sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Thanks for the support and collaboration Jason DeFreitas Meredith Chaput, PhD, DPT, SCS Grant Norte 🥇

Effects of training status on atrophy-hypertrophy outcomes with leg immobilization & recovery resistance training. Awesome pre-print led by Max Michel and help from Joshua Godwin Daniel Plotkin and others with collab from Matt Stock, PhD & Marcas Bamman, PhD biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Excited to announce that I successfully proposed my dissertation project entitled “Motor Unit Control of Maximal Grip Force Among Older Adults”. Special thanks to my advisory committee and the 🐐 mentor Matt Stock, PhD. We look forward to working on this important topic!

🚨The UCF CNS Lab is now recruiting older adults in Orlando for a 6 week training study. This is a great opportunity to get high-quality, supervised training in our lab. Please spread the word!

We've come a long way, but there remains a clear need for practical (yet valid) assessments of muscle inhibition at the point-of-care. Here's an interesting perspective for those interested in #AMI. 🔗doi.org/10.1177/036354… Dave Sherman, PhD, PT, ATC Justin Rush, PhD, ATC Christopher D. Ingersoll @ckuenze

Leg immobilization and recovery resistance training affect skeletal muscle angiogenesis regardless of prior training experience. Follow-up analysis by Mason McIntosh to our disuse study. Help from Max Michel, Joshua Godwin, @danielplotkin_, and others. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
