Trump's win should act as a warning to the Labour government: If we fail to address deep-rooted inequality and the cost of living crisis, we risk leaving a void that can be filled by the far-right. When people feel ignored, they look for alternatives.

The news that people inheriting land worth at least Β£1 million will have to pay tax on it has drawn significantly more outrage from politicians and the press than the news that 1 in 3 children in Britain are now living in poverty.

When three people on top own more wealth than the bottom half of America … When a handful of corporations control the economy … When you get one vote but billionaires can spend hundreds of millions of dollars to elect the candidate of their choice … That’s oligarchy.

I've done it! I'm moved my Ten Minute Rule Bill in UK House of Commons, to ensure only those registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council can call themselves a nurse. Full speech to follow. Thanks again #ProtectNurse campaign. #ProtectNurse Now it's over to The Labour Party Govt.⏳

Crystal Palace have become the first club to offer an aftercare programme for released players that don't have a future in football. The three-year aftercare package will support released academy players in making a way of life, outside of football. This is a fantastic thing

Yesterday, while paediatrician Dr Alaa was at one of the few remaining hospitals caring for sick and injured children, she received the charred bodies of 7 of her children, killed by the Israeli army. Her husband, also a doctor, and only surviving child are in critical condition.

The BBC's dire coverage of Israel's genocide - challenged by an incredible doctor who served in Gaza. Bravo Tanya Haj-Hassan. It's worth listening to every word she speaks.

As the person who awarded the Honorary Doctorate to Pep Guardiola on behalf of The University of Manchester not only could you hear a pin drop while he was speaking but he got a heartfelt standing ovation from the congregation It’s not about ideology, it’s about humanity

Opposing the #AssistedDyingBill isn’t being immune to painful patient stories or dismissive of choice. It’s about social responsibility, our duty to help people through despair. About the value we place on human life. 1/2

I'm old enough to remember when virtually everybody in the working class Lancashire town I grew up in voted Labour. Most workers were in unions & most of us were proud democratic socialists. We knew who our opponents were, it wasn't our areas Pakistani community who had come to

Stop blaming the poor This country isn’t poorer because disabled people get Β£100 a week or asylum seekers get Β£49 a wk It’s poorer because the very rich dodge Β£35 billion a year β€” and Β£100 billion a year flows into British enabled tax havens We’re not broke We’re being robbed

Zohran's campaign was his determination to make New York a city everyone can afford to live in. Huge congratulations! His success will resonate throughout the world. A story where no one is left behind. It's time to write that story across England & Wales too.
