Had a really enjoyable meeting with Tudor Places Magazine today. And where better to have it than at Hampton Court Palace? #hamptoncourtpalace #tudors #History

Back from another enjoyable afternoon in and around Hampton Court Palace. I'm a big fan of the Tudor part but the Baroque half isn't too shabby either. #hamptoncourtpalace #baroque

A quick word to the world. The black Tesla that has been parked outside my house for the past three days does not belong to me

To mark St Cuthbert's Day here is 'the Journey' by Fenwick Lawson. Situated in the centre of Durham, it depicts six monks carrying the saint's coffin to its resting place the city. The Rest Is History podcast features a very engaging account of his life by Tom Holland.

Check it out! Some great articles including pieces on Durham Cathedral, Ludlow Castle, Harvington Hall, and the Vyne. I did the cover feature on Great St Mary's.

I’m digging up old ground, but I have to challenge Steve Coogan's line about The Lost King film. He claims it’s all true (as has Philippa Langley): Langley will be celebrated for her achievement, Richard Taylor & his personal gripes will be forgotten So what’s the real story? 1/n

The party who claim to be patriots literally had a Reform leadership member caught red handed taking bribes from Russia. This article details the speeches Nathan Gill gave that he was paid to give. How are Reform getting away with this? theguardian.com/news/ng-intera…

Memorial in St Martin's Place to Edith Cavell, the heroic English nurse who was shot by the Germans in 1915. I do hope all those who describe themselves as patriots heed her words.

Excellent Southampton FC match programme for yesterday's game v Sheffield Wednesday. The back cover is a roll of former players who lost their lives in the two World Wars. #RemembranceDay #SouthamptonFC

Great St Mary's, Cambridge. The speech that Elizabeth I delivered in here in Latin during her visit to the university in 1564 was an absolute tour de force. Find out more about her visit in my article in the latest issue of Tudor Places magazine - out now! #cambridgeuniversity
