Dr Julie Bailey ...and social components of learning. Ask them about their engagement with specific instances of learning rather than learning in general. For example: 'were you focused or distracted in today's lecture?'

Dr Julie Bailey Julie's research found that compared to NT students, ND learners are not OK: they're overwhelmed, frustrated, and distracted. She argues that we need to widen our standard provision so that ND students don't 'drop out' of it.

We considered fundamental questions around values, positionality, assumptions & social justice in neurodiversity research and practice.


This week we welcomed Dr Stephanie Nowack back to Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge to discuss global perspectives on neurodiversity. Stephanie shared her doctoral research project on autism and play in Sub-Saharan Africa, asking questions about perspectives and practice around playful teaching.
