It can be done well, but I definitely prefer no scaling, as it gives you a sense of accomplishment for defeating enemies you shouldn’t be beating and lets areas feel appropriately dangerous if you wander in underleveled.

Fighting games are pain, suffering, anguish, and all that other stuff that makes you want to destroy the nearest breakable object in your room. But then you bait someone into lvl 3'ing with tech that you learned in a YT video and all of a sudden they're the greatest thing ever
